We had an event on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Treasure Coast Harley Davidson benefitting The Hope Center for Autism. It was a great day, but didn't begin like that! When we arrived at TC Harley, HAVOC was already there and had called the Martin County Rescue. Firetruck showed up, but when we saw the firetruck, we all thought that a biker was down already. Not a good way to start a benefit!
HAVOC explained that while he was sitting there waiting for our arrival, a mother duck was walking with her ducklings and they passed over the grate in the parking lot. Poor little ducklings fell through the cracks and were stuck in the sewer drain! Mama Duck was frantic.
An emergency call was placed to Mr. Labar asking permission to break the concrete to retrieve the little ducklings. Sorry for waking you so early Mr. Labar, but we THANK YOU for your quick response of "Save those ducklings! And please, relocate them to the pond in the back of Treasure Coast Harley Davidson."
They are in their "new home" now and we have named all but 4 of the ducklings. If the Martin County Rescue team would tell us their names, there are baby ducklings waiting.
The nine ducklings are: "Martin" "County" "Fire" "Rescue" "HAVOC" (Rescue Member 1) (Rescue Member 2) (Rescue Member 3) and (Rescue Member 4). Thanks guys and gals, you did an awesome job!
MaMa Duck THANKS YOU for saving her ducklings!
